Can anyone shed some light on this subject? I see adds stating non-reflective and reflective stripes for a GT/CS. Are both of these correct replacements? My car was built in March if that makes a difference.
Thanks Y'all

According to both of Paul Newitt's books, the stripes came in 4 colors: white, black, red, and blue. And of those 4, only the blue stripes were "metallic", or reflective. (The stripe color tended to match, or at least coordinate with, the interior color. I don't know that I've ever seen the red or blue stripes in person, although I've seen photos of both.) It doesn't matter when your car was built. Also, this is one thing that a Marti report does not identify; the codes on the car tell you exterior and interior colors, but not stripe color.
By the way, at least one Mustang parts vendor sells the stripes in gold. Just keep in mind that it's not one of the original factory choices.

nfrntau,
I wrote this in another post but it may help you:
There is nothing that will tell you the original stripe color, not even the Marti report. However, the color usually matched the interior color (or close to), ie if the interior is black the stripe was black, or if the interior was white the stripe was white. This is not always the case, if the interior/exterior are black the stripe would be white. It was not a standard thing.
One place to look even if your car has been repainted is the edges of the door. I had no stripe on my car and the second owner got it that way so he did not know the color. I looked at the front edge of the door and you could see the stripes, which had been overpainted. I scraped off the paint and saw black. You can also check the scoops if you need to replace the screens.

Just to confuse the issue, I'll toss this in. My Ford 999 report stated I had "red accent stripes" but the color of stripe on the door under the repaint was black and I have a red interior with a white exterior. I elected to go with the red stripe to match my interior and because I thought it looked better.

Thanks everbody,
The original stripes are still on the inside edges of the doors. This car was Alcapulco blue with black interior. The stripes were originally white which is what I'll go back with. I'll stick to a unreflective stripe.
Have a great weekend all

I just ordered a set of stripes for my cal spec. Mine is blue like yours with a light blue/dark blue interior. I ordered them from Steve (see post a couple down from this one) in CA. He is a great guy and comes recommended from a few on this site. Cost is about $85.00. He will ship to your house and the stripes will be right.
Let me know if you don't see the number below in this forum.
