'71 Eleanor?

This thing sold for $71,280 at Barrett-Jackson.

It looks, to me, like a '71-'73 but can't tell for sure.

Yeah, it looks like a '71-'73. Boy, I wish I had that kinda cash ... but I think you could, if you shop around, buy a real Shelby with that much money ;).

And it would look better.

I'll bet that rear spoiler actually works to hold the back end down but dang it's big! Put a few hundred lights in there and rent it a bank to display the time and temperature.

I remember seeing that car in Popular Hot Rodding a few years back. It's pretty fugly aint it. The kid who was building it was trying to build a "crossover" between the two Eleanor's from both the movies. The '71-'73 Mach 1 with the '67 Shelby. IIRC, it is a '73 since it had the body color bumper instead of the chrome one, but don't quote me on that.
