69convert 04/09/2006, 08:04 PM I won!!!??? I am going to get the quick marti report to make sure the vin given
goes to a CS. Anybody in the boise, idaho know this car? Anybody can check it out for me before I plop down the money? I would like someone to pull the fender over on the driver's side to make sure someone is not pulling a fast one. If necessary, I will pay someone to look over the car and make sure it is as listed, ie no rot!

Mustanglvr 04/09/2006, 09:15 PM Um, maybe you should of thought about all this before you won the auction?
BroadwayBlue 04/09/2006, 09:26 PM Good Luck Barry!
I 2nd what Rhonda said ... future reference for anyone out there looking ... get the quickie Marti Report before commiting to anything ... they fax it the same day for about $10 or $15 ... well worth the price if you need confirmation.

I was the one who bid $10,505 at the start of the auction. I am fairly sure he lowered the reserve during the auction. Curious to hear what it is like in person.
69convert 04/10/2006, 07:27 AM I thought about getting the quickie report before "winning" but with the way some of the bidding goes I figured there was a good chance I wasn't going to win. I had my limit at 10,800 and was not going to go higher (check what the NOS hood pins sold for yesterday--YIKES!!!!). Since the report only takes one day, I will do that today. Money hasn't changed hands yet!!
The car is claimed to be a CS and if it's not..... Well i don't think if i get a negative for that. The seller is also a square trade dealer for what that is worth.
I only have one problem. I don't have the vin at work and the listing is not showing up on my "won" list on ebay. Nothing is ever easy.
joedls 04/10/2006, 08:09 AM The seller is also a square trade dealer for what that is worth.
This means absolutely nothing if the Seller elects not to enter into mediation. I had a problem with Big D Mustangs leaving me an untruthful negative feedback after I left them a nuetral feedback. They just flat out lied. They were a Square Trade member, so I contacted Square Trade to try to resolve this. Big D declined to mediate, so Square Trade would not allow me to present the evidence of their lies. I then asked them to revoke Big D's Square Trade status. They wouldn't do it. So my conclusion was that Square Trade means *$^&.
69convert 04/10/2006, 08:22 AM Thanks for the info. Ebay is definitely interested in making money and not preventing their customers being ripped off.
Know any car inspection servcies in boise, idaho?
I have called about the marti report.

case12 04/10/2006, 10:08 AM Congrats on the T-code. Nice Car. A little TLC will have her looking very nice. Are you thinking of going original, or modified? Casey

So you are telling me you bid on this car and won and if it is not real you are going to back out? You own this car wheter it is real or not since you won the auction.

This should not matter at this point, you own the car. send your money and have it shipped. the auction is over.

I think if the owner has misrepresented the car as a CS when it's not, then the buyer has the right to back out. It would be like someone showing a picture of a box and saying it was full of diamonds, when it was really full of CZs, then auctioning it. If you found out before you paid, I don't believe you are obligated to pay for them.

Sorry, I disagree. This car has been for sale for at least 10 days on this auction (MANT times before this). The buyer had enough time to look at the car and run a Marti before bidding (he bid 4 days before the end of the auction).
Did you also see the new owner wanted to locate a inspection service to look at it AFTER the auction is over?
68gt390 04/10/2006, 11:30 AM I have to agree with Jason. These are items that should of already been completed before bidding. That's like saying even if it is a CS and it doesn't meet my expectations I'll just back out of the purchase. If I were the seller, think I'd be a little pissed. Was the car not also available for inspection prior to the end of the bidding. Not a good way to do business.

Mustanglvr 04/10/2006, 11:40 AM I think pulling out of a deal like that based on those facts is ridiculous. I completely agree with you on this Jason.
Barry, do you always bid blindly on things? Do you realize the time, money and trouble you will cause the seller if you back out?
69convert 04/10/2006, 12:02 PM Congrats on the T-code. Nice Car. A little TLC will have her looking very nice. Are you thinking of going original, or modified? Casey
I would like to go original. Except maybe updating the ignition system and going with a 2bbl or throttle body. And the cooling system.
Any thoughts on the subjects greatly appreciated.
ps. so that's how the quoting thing works!
69convert 04/10/2006, 12:08 PM that was indeed stupid on my part.
if the car is a cs I own it. I should have done the inspection ahead of time. its still fraud and I will deal with the situation if that occurs. Unfortunately ebay does a poor job of policing itself and protecting buyers.
If the car is not a CS then it's fraud plain and simple. There is no difference of opinion in what it is or isn't. The one day marti report doesn't inconvience the seller any as I will send the full amount.

Good luck. Keep us informed as to what you bought and what you need help with once you receive the car.

390cs68rcode 04/10/2006, 01:50 PM for the record I was the underbidder in this auction. I bid $10,505 on this car the day it started. I did not run a Marti or had a inspection. I was willing to pay this without a Marti or inspection. I would have bid more if I had a inspection and it came back OK.
joedls 04/10/2006, 03:11 PM I completely agree with you if the buyer backs out because of an inspection. But not on the issue of whether or not it is a real CS. I believe the seller has a responsibility to tell the truth and not misrepresent what he has. It would be differnt if the seller said he believed it was a CS, but it needed to be verified.
