Here is an excerpt from an eBay auction.
This is an awesome, gorgeous color poster of the infamous 1968 Mustang GT/CS, California Special. This is a fine copy of an original dealer brochure front cover from back in 1968.It depicts a stunning red GT/CS in motion. I picked up a bunch of these and other posters (see my other auctions) at a local swap meet. I have this proudly displayed on my garage wall...
Infamous??? Ted Bundy is infamous, why is the GT/CS infamous???????
Ted Bundy, not Al.

The California black license plate is period correct except for one thing:
V R T 7 1 7 was a Southern California series of plates, however any plates issued in the series V R A - 0 0 0 through V R Z - 9 9 9 actually were plated to California autos from about April through September 1967 and I daresay the cover car has the wrong plates on it. I was in HS and Nor Cal, at the time, and knew my knowledge of these
Plus, years later I dated a gal whose dad let her use his very pale green (would that be seafoam green) 1967 Sport Special Mustang 289 notchback.
That car was delivered new to a Ford agency in Manhattan Beach California (So. Cal.) and the the plate # was V R N - 5 5 4.
per Websters New World dictionary
Infamous: Having a very bad reputation;notorious;outrageous; Law: punishable by imprisonment in a penitentiary; said of certain crimes, usually felonies
GT/CS infamous: Well years ago you could see a few abortions, you know, dented and primered ones, rear ends jacked up with Shackles showing on rear springs, (or Gabriel Hijackers - remember those, my 67 had them, complete with Rabbit decal on quarter window), glass packs, "Moroso, edelbrock blask black steel wheels and RWL tires Gooyr Tiger Paws, etc."
Kind of a "bad boy":icon_evil

Fondly remembered '67 Cougar maroon, black plate California U M H - 2 7 4 delivered new to L/M agency Town and Country Motors, March 1967, Sacramento California

Folks, check the auction anyway and click his OTHER auctions, he has a sweet laminated blown up dealer postcard, nice big picture , car appears red with a white stripe, cool rear views, stock full '68 wheel covers, whitewall tires. Looks great. If you hurry for less than $15 delivered it could be yours. (Usual disclaimers, no personal interest etc)
But someone else here should have a shot at it.
Check this. Ebay user name is "MRGTCS" Got to love it. One of the good people. Wonder why he is offing his GT/CS stuff?
Thanks for the heads up Arlie. Made my day!!

I picked one up a few weeks ago too.
It was worth the copy charge and lamination in my mind.
Going to pick up the postcard too (even thought I have an original)
Don't rush on the buy it now though - they're on all the time.
Good guy to deal with and great packaging too.

You got a bargain on yours. He doesn't even START the bidding as low as you got yours anymore. CS memorabilia already going up in price. LOL Good to know he's reputable. Already paid him.
Thanks Rich
