Does anybody know how many 66 Mustang Sprints were produced? I had one but did`nt realize it at the time. They were the ones with the 200 inline 6 cylinders and no side bars like the regular 66`s. Thanks.

I think they came with a chrome air cleaner, and a center console. Maybe another item. I don't think the delete of the quarter panel trim was part of the Sprint package. That was a separate option that added a pin stripe around the cove and deleted the quarter panel trim. Also, in 67' they had the Springtime Sprint sales that were available on any engine car. My 67' is one although it's a 6 cylinder. That came with a chrome air cleaner, rocker moldings, vinyl covered shift handle, and turn signal hood. I'll have to check the Bill of Sale and see if there was anything else. Mike case12 09/08/2006, 07:05 AM Mustang Enthusiast has a comprehensive article on all the "special" mustangs in the issue that just hit the stands (November issue, page 20) - there are Mustangs in the article that I never knew about. Ever heard of a '67 Pacesetter, '67 Lone Star, '85 Twister II, '69 Sidewinder, or the '67 Six Hundred?. Another rare one was a '97 Woodward Dream Cruise Mustang. The article describes many more specials, and what they came with - for every year ('64 to today). They mention that the GT/CS is considered by most to be the "granddaddy" of the specials. Casey 390cs68rcode 09/10/2006, 03:03 PM heard of the 67 Lone Star, sometimes called the Bluebonnet Special. BroadwayBlue 09/10/2006, 08:57 PM Here's some good info on Limited Edition Mustangs http://www.limited600mustang.com/specials.html Mustanglvr 09/10/2006, 09:09 PM Thanks everybody for all the info. All I can figure, is that they must have made alot of them. |
