What kind of horns did the CS have? On mine there is a hi and low pitch and they both have different mounting brackets. What is the difference between hi and low pitch? Did the mustangs come with one of each? I'm lost!

View Full Version : Need help with horns!! my68cs 03/18/2007, 08:51 PM What kind of horns did the CS have? On mine there is a hi and low pitch and they both have different mounting brackets. What is the difference between hi and low pitch? Did the mustangs come with one of each? I'm lost! franklinair 03/18/2007, 09:12 PM All horn sets have a high & a low pitch. The mounting brackets are for mounting on the left & right on the front of the radiator core support. Horns on factory A/C equipped cars have a different mounting bracket for the horn mounted on the right side. Best verification is to see a '68 installation. There should be no difference between a standard '68 or a C/S. my68cs 03/20/2007, 08:20 PM Thanks a lot! My car is a factory A/C equipped. The horn mounting bracket fits perfect on the left side but not on the right. The right horn doesn't fit on the A/C evaporator bracket. I don't know if I have the wrong mounting bracket or not but it is different than the left side. rvrtrash 03/20/2007, 08:49 PM I'll go out and take a pic of mine tomorrow for you. Steve franklinair 03/21/2007, 02:23 PM I checked with my Mustang guru in FL, he told me that both horns have to have the A/C type brackets for mounting on the A/C condensor. I may be able to get a set, don't know $$$, but I can find out. Neil Hoppe CALIF GIRL 03/21/2007, 05:45 PM Here are a couple shots of the drivers side horn.
