Hey Everyone-
Nice looking site. Yesterday I found what looks to be a VERY clean GT/CS. I noticed it has an auto trans, delux hood w/ locks, fog lights, shelby brake lights, etc. I have scedualed an appointment with the seller to look it over today. I will also get the vin and run a Marti report on it to make sure it is real. Are these things very hard to fake? The condition is absolutly awsome. I did not see any rust anywhere and the interior looks awesome also. I just want to guage some idea of what it might be worth if it is infact a real GT/CS in described condition.

Mine was about 13,000 but it had just gotten reapholstered and a new paint job before i bought her she is in great condition not concours but then again not much is wrong, just the few things any old car has wrong you know? also i have the original engine and trans too

To answer your question in your first post, YES it is easy to fake a GT/CS but it will not look original if you know where to look. As for your VIN #, you can not really tell if it is original just from it, but one question I do have is your VIN says your car should be a inline 6 cylinder, not a 289. The 5th character "T" states this, if it was a 289, it should be a "C". How many lugs are on the wheel, if they just changed the engine and did not change the suspension the wheels will be 4 lug instead of 5. The door tag can give alittle more info, such as what the DSO states, there are only a few that are correct. Hope this helps you.

Did any GT/CS come with the 6 or were they all V8? Also, do all of the real ones have functioning hood locks?

Any engine could be ordered and yes they all had hood locks. See the "identification" link to your left for more info.
