Courtesy of Paul Newitt's 1st recognition guide, the GT/SC was a prototype car similiar in nature to Little Red or Green Hornet. The SC was a built from a '67 coupe and sported '68 features (67 shelby side scoops, blackout front grill and Marchal lamps). It was produced for Ford by Shelby Automotive in December '67 - January '68. The SC was renamed the CS and the California Special script was added to the rear panel to create the car that we are all talking about.
Thanks again Paul.

Thanks, Craig,
You are completely right. The GT/"SC" was a one-off concept for the whole country--which I surmise was because those in power in Dearborn originally didn't think that California should get it's own limited edition, even though 20% of ALL Mustangs and T-Birds were sold in Calif. back then.
But we all know how that worked out...
Texas wanted their own Mustang, too. A lot of states' dealers were very jealous of this deal for California...
Paul.

So how was it that the Denver DSO got in on them? Was it because the DSO already had a history of the HCS and it was an easy thing to make happen? I thought I remember talking to Bob about this in the past, but I don't remember what he said.
