I got a good look at the underside of a 2008 GT/CS yesterday, and I noticed a great place to mount the '68 type "quarter-turn" hood pins, just like on the '68 CS and Shelby.
Near the front of the hood--near each side--are these round 2 to 3" diameter indentations on the underside of the hood. There is a matching rubber hood bumper on the front "rail", just behind the nose/grille, where these meet when the hood is closed.
What would be the chance of owners willing to drill holes and mounting these hood pins on your late model CS? Where the rubber bumper is, would be a custom made retainer that would attach to that "rail" section, one on each side.
If you have a late model--go give it a look, and let me know what you think. I'd be interested in your thoughts on this.
(is this the same spot where the click-pin hood pins are installed on the Shelby GTs?)
thanks again,
Paul.
