Midnight Special

...and reminder of what we enjoy most about this hobby! I was recently contacted by one of my best friends (Bob) from my high school years whom I hadn't seen in over 25 yeas!
Back in the day; we had twin yellow & black '69 fastbacks and we cruised all over heck and back playing cat & mouse w/ cops, racing and otherwise cruising every weekend with friends who had everything from Boss 302s, to CJ Mach Is & Torinos, to Firebird 400s, big block Mopars... You name it. My car had the 8-track, but most others had cassette players blasting away w/ Boston, Frampton, Pink Floyd, Bad Company and even Barry Manilow (thanks to my girlfriend Chris ((eesh!))...
After several e-mails and long reminiscing phone conversations - we invited Bob (and his daughter Shanna) up for a weekend visit as well as another local cruising buddy (Calvin) who I also hadn't seen for some time.
Bob knew I was back into Stangs, but had no idea to what degree... Upon arrival, he was presented with his own car for the duration (complete with Boston cassette) and his daughter (who proved proficient in her own '04 T-bird) her own GT/CS. We spent the entire weekend cruising, sightseeing and recalling the good ole' days as best described by the photos below!
Not unlike Arlie and his cruise across America (and all others who love the experience) - This was one for the history books!
Amazing how the more things change - some will always be the same.
