Bill and I looked at that car a few years ago when I was looking to purchase a GT/CS. It was not a bad looking car but it certainly had enough issues to make both of us walk away saying, "No way, not for that price".

The seller told us it was a rare Hertz model.

Check out the Freudian slip on the description under one of the pictures.

"The striking tail section is compromised of a fiberglass trunk lid with an integral spoiler, 1965 Thunderbird tail lights, and a special pop-off gas cap"

Oops!

Here is a thread about Hertz cars

And a thread about the Lime Gold car

I like that wagon. I didn't catch the price on it though. I saw a 69 Fairlane wagon done up almost identically a few years ago at the Portland Swap meet and must have walked by it a dozen times trying to decide if I wanted to drag it home.

Many moons ago, (when my daughters were little munchkins) I bought a Fairlane SW with a 390. It scared the yell out of me!! Not exactly the family car I had in mind. I'd love to have now, though.
