Anyone knows a good paint shop in Florida that you have worked with and can recommend?

Thanks

Isn't the car being restored by the Rego's? Don't they paint?

Nope, they outsource the paint jobs. The car is there now for sheet metal work.

Luis, the last paint facility I used in Miami (Cutler Ridge area) was called "Buckeye". They should be in the phone book. If you have a shop doing the metal work for you, surely they would have a reliable paint shop to recommend after they have done all the metal work - to make sure their labor & product looks it's best.

Wish you were closer to Franklin, NC. There are 2 shops here that I've used. One is a repair shop - they did a '57 T-Bird for me, VERY nice. The other is Beach's. They do classic/show cars, but kinda expensive - but exquisite. They did a repair to the rear valance on my C/S (spliced in the GT exhaust cutouts for me) and even the backside of the valance was finished as well as the frontside. Paint was matched perfectly. (Bring it here - I'll help you!! I'm on the winning end of the '68 convertible I'm doing.)

Neill: I have no problem taking the car to NC after sheetmetal work is done..its going to be probably towards the end of the year since the shop has not started working on it yet.

Are there any Mustang Specilaized resto shops in NC? Just out of curiosity...

If they haven't started working on it yet, I have a feeling it will be more into the spring before it gets ready for paint. How high end of a paint job are you looking for?

You are probably right...they should start work in December and it shoud be finished in 6-8 weeks once they start. I would like a quality paint job...not concours but a nice quality. The car wont be used for judged shows since we don't have any here but I want a car that I can be proud to show.

I'll ask around down here. It would be much easier to keep it in state since you are already in Orlando. One thing to keep in mind, it doesn't necessarily need to be a shop that does resto work. Down here we have quite a few shops that work on million dollar Euros. One shop comes to mind that has the most advanced paint booths I have ever seen, and not just one, but three of these.

You have time to make the decision, so take your time.

Surely there's a Mustang Club in the Orlando area. Check the MCA listings, see if you can contact someone in that area that could recommend a good paint shop.

I'm actually suprised that someone would shoot paint over another shops bodywork. Up here they want to do their own prep and primer. It keeps you from having a finger pointing war if the job doesn't turn out.

I thought the same thing, but if the shop doing the metal work does not paint, what is one to do.
