View Full Version : All Years FRI 4/17: Mustangs on TV !!
PNewitt 04/15/2009, 03:21 PM This Friday is April 17th; the 45th Anniversary of the Mustang.
"Good Morning America", on ABC will do a segment on the Mustang.
A few days ago, I was asked if I could help find a '64 1/2 for ABC, from MCA magazine editor, Mary Jean.
My contact was 73Pony, John in New Jersey. His Garden State Mustang Club immediately came up with a great, concours '64 1/2 convertible.
This is what ABC said: "The segment will air at approximately 7:50 a.m. We will most likely
do a live shot of the car at 7:30."
(but that is approximate, and, if no "breaking news gets in the way")
Get your VCRs ready.
It's not a Special, but it took our network to make it happen. My thanks to CS Registry member 73Pony and to the Garden St. Mustang Club in NJ for making this happen!!

Alarm set. Wait, what time zone is that?
clubpro 04/17/2009, 09:32 AM What's a VCR?
I have a DVD player and a DVR and I have TVO, but I'm not sure what a VCR is... I think it is packed up with my 8-track player somewhere. LOL
Cheers,
Ron
aemoo28 04/17/2009, 10:52 AM Somehow I missed seeing 73pony's car. I turned on GMA at 0740 but no talk of cars, and 0815 still no talk. Anyone youtube this segment?

Hi Amy,
I DVR-ed it and watched it tonight. You didn't miss anything.
The whole thing lasted about 45 seconds and they were doing the weather throughout the segment. So the cars were on for 30 seconds tops.
I was really disappointed. From what I could see, the white convertible was a great looking car and the 2010 Grabber Blue convertible was as well.
I was expecting a lot more but ABC let us down.
The guy kept saying it was the 46th Anniversary of the Mustang.
Unless they decided not to show the segment in NY it was basically them doing the weather report from inside the 2010 convertible.
clubpro 04/20/2009, 08:22 PM Rich,
I feel the same as you do. I was really looking forward to them spending an entire segment on the Mustang and instead if you blinked you missed it. By the way the 2010 is the 46th year for the Mustang, 2009 was the 45th. I'm hoping that the Speed Channel will do something on the Mustang or Car Crazy or My Classic Car.
Cheers,
Ron
robert campbell 04/20/2009, 08:48 PM I am embarresed to admit that our 67 Fastback has an AM/FM/8 Track that still works.....

I agree with you Ron
BroadwayBlue 04/22/2009, 08:38 PM The guy wasn't referring to the 2010 as 46th.
He said at least 3 times. It was 46 years ago today that the Mustang was introduced or the Mustang is 46 years old today.
Either way I'm sure some other stuff will be out.
aemoo28 04/22/2009, 08:44 PM As I said, on my side (pacific time) I didn't see a THING. I did notice the local weather came on at 0750, as I looked at the clock. Someone youtubed it, right?

Nothing on You Tube or anywhere else I searched Amy. I think I deleted it off my DVR as soon as I saw what was on.
