Mileage on 42 year old cars always seems to be a matter of interpretation...does anyone know what is the lowest documented miles on a '68???

Having serviced a few spedos and set them back to zero there is nothing to show how many times it has been around... this shot is from my special and while I guess it is 102,503 it could be as high as 302,503! All depends on how thorough the last restoration was - my special is into its fourth full restoration/repair but I only have documentation of the last two and almost all traces of this previous work will be erased when finished.

What documentation would you accept?... does it matter?... have you been following the clone versus original debate in MCR lately with the embarrasment of the shelby cougar article?

Mine seems to be in the 120's, but who's to say it's not 220's unless you have some kind of paper trail. The 120's make sense based on what I know of it's history. A lot of folks seem to have a nicely redone car showing 40K and assume that it's original miles because the car is so nice. IMHO, a 42 year old car with less than 50-60K is a rare bird indeed, although there are certainly a few out there.

Mine was sold new in Hawaii in '69 and parked in '78/'79. It showed 52K on the odometer when I bought it, and I would bet good money that was correct, although there is no way to prove it.

original owner cars with documents showing mileage thru the years is the best way to prove mileage IMO.

I'd like to see some pics of the GT/CS before I judge the guy/site, but ...

I think there's a premium for the brody knob!!! Oh, and being able to "see" right into the trunk through the wheel well.

Think maybe he fat fingered an extra zero? $4500 would be high for the car but make a lot more sense. If he's serious about the 45,000 the guy better have a back up job.
