‘68 California Special, clean and pure. Other than a “bolt on” upgrade to a 4bbl carb and dual exhaust (original parts retained for reversal if desired) she is all original right down to the AM Philco radio. Less than 1000 miles on a rebuilt V8 289 and a rebuilt automatic transmission. We have the original plates with vanity frame and the original Bill of Sale, handwritten from Hughson’s Ford in San Francisco. Garaged her entire life. Never had any body damage and is as clean and sweet as they come. She may want some new paint for her next birthday as she’s sporting her original paint, but still looks gorgeous.

Hi, nice original example.

Do you have the Marti Report?

Is the console original to the car? Also, what condition is the console? It appears to have rope around the top edge?

Also, what are the condition of the front seats under the covers.

Thank you, Wallace

Wallace,
I'm ordering the Marti Report. Should take about a week to receive it.

Would console be black with that color combination? Doesn't seem correct but.....

No mention of P/B or P/S
Looks like a very nice survivor, but let's do some math.
Paint/bodywork= $8K
Interior re-do = $1K
Unknown items =$1K (suspension, brakes, window seals, tires, etc. Labor cost could double this amount.)

At $32K starting point, and a very conservative $10K estimate to make it a very nice driver quality, the total would put it way beyond market value.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but the numbers are reality.

Neil

I agree. Very unrealistic. Seems to be a trend with these rougher cars.

Everything is original on the car except for the bolt-on carb upgrade and the dual exhaust. I really don’t know why there was a small piece of rope trimming the top of the console. I do know that the first owner bought the car for his daughter... so maybe something she added...? I’ve never attempted to remove it. I have also never seen the seats under the sheep skin covers, although my husband said he peaked at them when we first bought it and there was one place where the seam appeared to be pulling loose. So we kept them on to keep the seats protected. I’ll have to pull them off and get a look myself. See if I can get a couple photos.

Sorry, what is P/B P/S?
