Wonder if someone could cut a deal with Marti to just dump all GT/CS from the database and be done with it... as the data is there. Maybe even a list of VINs (as I don't think this is in any of the registries as I believe all are "as reported") which may be cheaper than complete reports.

A master list could then be mapped listing all VINs and then a tickbox for "in registry" or "Marti provided"...

Just a thought.

Kevin and I had that discussion a few years ago. The short answer is, "No".
He said his agreement with Ford doesn't allow such research. Doesn't make sense to me but that's what he said.

I am wondering then if we could build on this site our own database of cars VIN with "Reports" attachments.

Thanks

Well here's one more for you. Never got around to it until now that I am selling and took pic of it. Better late than never!

I don't think I ever uploaded the Martis that I gathered when I purchased the collection of cars from Ernie Gonzales. I've attached 10 Martis. I know some of them have been uploaded by the current owners, but here they are in one place, nonetheless.

The collection consisted of 7 GT/CSs, 2 HCSs and 1 Sprint (B). The Sprint was sold on eBay.

Additional info for each one:

8R01J131680
This is the car that was on stage at the GT/CS debut and used by Ford for press releases and promotions. I still own this car. The statistics report show this as a 1 of 1 as follows:
  • 317,423 1968 Mustangs,
  • 249,456 were Hardtops. Of them,
  • 4,118 were California Specials, of which
  • 962 were equipped with 302-4v Engines. Of those,
  • 658 came with an Automatic Transmission.
  • 52 of them were painted Gulfstream Aqua, of which
  • 8 had Aqua Decor Bucket Seats. Of these,
  • 1 was ordered with GT Equipment Group.

This is the HCS that was sold to "ruppstang".

8R01C168638
This HCS has recently been sold to a gentleman named Guy in Sacramento.

8R01C168631
This HCS isn't in the collection. When recording the VIN from the turquoise HCS, we misread the last digit. It ended up also being an HCS!

8R01C157109
This is the low miles GT/CS that was purchased by "Magnum" on this site from me and then "Mike M" from him.

8R01C150188
This car is still in my possession. It is the 4 speed listed on my site.

8R01C149855
This car was recently sold to a gentleman named Tim in Minnesota (via eBay).

8R01C149731
The first car I sold from the collection, it went to "cnassif" on this site.

8R01C148940
This car is still in my possession. It is the wrecked car listed on my site.

8R01C142550
This one recently sold to a gentleman named Matt in Fresno (via eBay).

Hope someone finds this info useful!

-Curtis

Here is a cool story to tell ya. My GT/CS is 8R01J140036. The cool part is that my VIN that is on the fender has the hidden second VIN as 8R01J131680 with the V (void) on the beginning and end of that VIN. Been scratching my head on that one until I did a search on the vin and saw it here. Anyone have any ideas?
