OUCH! Yes, at around 500 hp a stock 8.2 deck height 289 or 302 block is at the ragged edge. My GNS build used a band new 302 "Mexican" block and main caps that are a bit beefier. I know mine was at that edge also. The new owner wants to spin up the blower more, or add nitromethane in the water methanol injection. We may put in a DSS main cap support to help it handle more. But who knows!!! Same result may happen!!
