interesting that the brochure depicts a Gt/cs with no "California special" script on the rear quarter panels....

The promotional photos were taken before the California Special scripts had arrived. If I remember right they were not going to have the script on the rear quarters, but the SoCal Ford dealers said "no script, then no car" so at the last minute they sent the script order to ACSCO to be manufactured in a very short period of time. Print and Television advertising was done in January and the script order wasn't placed until February 1st.
