WoW. That's a good price. Probably $8K for a strip & paint. And if everything else checks out OK, its a good deal.
I've got to stop looking at the For Sale threads.
I'm building a 40' X 40' garage, but Peggy says NO MORE! (I've got 2 CS's, a '68 convertible, and Peggy's '57 T-Bird to work on/maintain- after I finish Stephen's CS.
So many cars, so little time...

Well shoot! I just sent them an email asking to look at it. I guess I can't get over the bug.
Steve
Just heard back. They promised it to someone who can't come look at it for 2 weeks. I asked to be notified if it falls through.

It's listed in the latest registry book, without a Marti.

Yep, not any more. Unfortunately, I just listed it as a clone.
Here are some photos of a few key details.
Even though it isn't a true GT/CS it's still a good looking car and is probably worth what he's asking. It'd make a great driver and/or long distance road trip car.
I've got to get a larger garage!!!
Edit
OK, now things are getting interesting. The scripts don't line up but the tail lights look correct. The grille is a '68 and there are no fog light brackets, but I wonder if the hood is correct and someone covered up the huge holes with those plates.
If the door was changed at some point the data plate may be incorrect.
This one will take some inspecting. I may need to run up to Riverside to look at it. Steve, you ready for a road trip?

I'm ready for a road trip, but they told me I couldn't even come look at it until the person they'd already talked to had a chance to get it in two weeks.

Arlie,
I would love to see this car up close and personal. Arlie, do you have the build date? The scripts look very old and like they are squared at the top like some of the very early ones. Wonder if it has the correct rear wiring harness. Grills and hoods can be damaged in a mild front end wreck. Wonder if it has the correct fog light circuit breaker on the fuse panel?
I realize that the Marti says no and until verified listing it as a clone is the correct thing to do. It would be interesting to really look this car over. As you said, the taillights look very correct. Wonder if the side scoops have witness lines? Wonder if the hood latches were installed after the original hood may have been damaged or if someone just wanted to dress up the holes that look so ugly as we know. The hood sheet metal date codes compared to the rest of the car date codes would allow the thought that it was original to the car.

Rob,
I'm going to look at it one of these days soon. You can join me in the exciting town of Riverside. We may need to go to Omak for beer and wings, though.

Still seems like a really nice car for the money, at least from what I can see in the photos, and the parts it has. Probably worth a deeper look. Diamond Blue color? Haven't seen that on a Mustang before, it's like a powder blue.
