It has been 8 years since I sold my CS at Barratt Jackson and this is my first visit since then. I'm in Palm Springs and watched the car go on $. The high bid was around $23k! Fortunately, the owner had a high bid ($60K), not knowing what the value would be. He has owned it for 5 years and had it professionally restored. He isn't really knowledgeable about the marque and was receptive to what I had to say.
About the car: I consider the quality of the restoration to be "concours"; they did an outstanding job, right down to all the bolts that had been "wire wheeled" and painted. Some of you may remember my car, which I considered to be show quality, but this one made mine look average by comparison. The only "flaw" I could find were the pop rivets on the grill, and few would notice this detail. If anyone is interested, I can get contact info. My email is: svensd@usa.net -Sven
A friend called me and said the car was bid to 22K, he said the cars that don't sell got a yellow sticker with information to go to the "no sale" desk.
I told him to go and make an offer for me. They informed him the car had already sold and would not disclose the price.
Looks like a great car that went for a fair price.
I talked to the owner this morning and he said that he had not sold the car and was surprised to hear that it had been on this website. Contact info regarding the car: Danny (562) 708-1999 (serious inquiries only).
