I went ahead and bought a new Holley 2 barrel 350CFM carb (doesn't help the wallet that I have a gigantic Summit Racing store nearby) for my newly rebuilt 289. I'm hoping this will bring a bit more performance to the car while still keeping the stock appearance and stock 2 barrel manifold.

Any tips on retro fitting this onto the stock 2 barrel intake manifold, specifically fuel lines, electric etc. or any other helpful hints for installation.

Here is a pic of the engine dropped back into the car. I now have all of the attachments mounted and I'm getting down to the final details.

Also, ended up having the transmission rebuilt...anybody in the DFW area, Chuy at Top Notch Transmissions was great!

Thanks
Nick.

It may be the angle of the photo, but the A/C pulley appears to be misaligned aft a fraction of an inch. Use a straight edge to be sure the pulley grooves are lined up.

Full disclosure...I have one roughly 1/4" round shim that I cannot place where it goes. I put the 3 others behind the bracket that holds the AC pump and attaches to the cyl heads. Do you think one of those bolts takes 2 shims? This is an aftermarket AC system I think it's called Classic Auto AC.

Which part are you seeing that looks like it needs to be shimmed?

Without seeing the entire mounting bracket, I cannot tell. It just looks like the compressor needs to be a quarter inch forward. Being offset the way it appears, the belt will wear and possibly break or sling off. Possibly causing damage. All pulleys must be aligned for smooth operation. I have the same system on my CS.

Thank you for the help on this one. Here are more pictures of the bracket.

I think NPD offers a pump-carb fuel line for the Holley.
