You may be running into this issue... so just in case you are...
This started happening about a week+ ago. Whenever I clicked on a hyperlink (eg to a youtube video, etc) in one of the posted threads on this site I got a blank webpage with the words "about:blank" in the search bar (which, BTW, is apparently the default when the target of the hyperlink can't be found or reached). This was happening on some other (not all) websites as well. I use the chrome browser. When I tried the Firefox browser the hyperlinks worked fine.
What I noticed was that whenever I clicked on a link, for an instant I would see "api.viglink" before I got "about:blank". I checked and viglink is a service that websites use to target ads based on what links a person clicks on. As far as I can tell its not a virus or malware, just a service provided to websites.

You can disable viglink ("opt out"). Once disabled all the hyperlinks seem to work right in chrome.
