Have the items below, think they came from my '68 convertible (San Jose, Dec '67) and X code coupe (Dearborn, March 68)

I'm taking out the "Australian" seat belts in the GT/CS, and trying to go back to stock. The parts I have don't line up with the FAM, which we know is not always correct.

I contacted a noted '68 guru, said the washers looked odd, but they work more with Metuchen cars.

I have noted in a parts bag that the longer shoulder bolt came from the trans tunnel side.

I think the flat washer goes to the body for the 4 fronts and the large silver flat washer is a spacer between the two belt fittings (lap and shoulder) on the trans tunnel side. The "bumpy" washer goes ? On top or below the belt connector? FAM calls out two rubber washers on the front outers (rocker side) I've never seen one, but could have disintegrated. AMK sells a hard plastic repro.

The rears are the 4 small short bolts, I think the bolt goes thru the belt fitting , then the "bumpy" washer to the body, and these ar efixed in palce.

Anyone got known originals and how they go together?

Coupe (bottom two thinner are shoulder harness, no washer, just thru belt to roof)

Well of course we have seatbelts, Just not a topic folks know a lot about. I put one back together, but the seatbelt fasteners are a total mystery to me. LOL. Sounds like D Truitt had the best answer over on ConcoursMustang.com. Nice to have so many venues to find the answers we seek. We might not be able to answer this question today, but there is always tomorrow.

Do you still need those measurements on the stripes?

Yes, looking for confirmation as single source answers sometime end up being semi-correct... or less. DTs answer does align, for the most part, to what I expected/have seen.

Just curious if anyone can confirm what they have seen in removing theirs.

As I have the big flat washers, from multiple cars, and a well known '68 specialist says they are not right I'm trying to see if its a San Jose thing. They deal with Metuchen, or if it may even be GT/CS specific, doubtful, but ya never know till you look sometimes...
