I saw a '69 advertised a little while back that said it was a Hertz car, so it would make sense that they did it for a number of years in a row. I don't remember if it had the "H" designation after the number, which may explain why they aren't as well known.

Arlie;
Talked to the folks at KAR and had Kevin go through his Shelby Registry and he found the following info on the 1968 GT350 Coupe/Notchback (Trans Am) 1.
Car was driven by Jerry Titus and competed in 6 races. They built a total of 8 Notchback cars, all used for Trans Am. This may be a question to pose to the Shelby Registry folks as far as any "H" designated cars. He couldn't find any listed but, it was kinda a down and dirty look through his book. He did say he knew they were produced for 66 and 67. I wasn't even aware that Shelby had ever built any Notchback/Coupe cars. Guess I learned something new. I'll have to file that one away for future reference.

There were 1968 Shelby's for rent from Hertz. Most were 350 fastbacks, automatics and A/C. There was a 500KR convertible and 500 vert also sold to Hertz, but it is suspected that those were "executive" cars for a higher up Hertz executives.

also, the Hertz cars DID NOT have a designator of "H" on the side in 68 or 69. One has to go back to the orignal sales invoice, as to where the car went. Just lurking through, thought I could help out briefly. Saw the BJ auction with the CS and was wondering the reaction over here.
