For Sale 1968 California Special C code Sunlit Gold in Australia

Yes. I bought my GT/CS from Steve (Mechanicalguy) back in late 2011. A few years later I travelled to USA and met up with Steve and he gave me a private tour of the LeMay car museum outside of Seattle. Great guy. The original owner lived in state of Washington and the car stayed in that state...

1968 Vin # on engine block

I checked all the paperwork that came with the car and there is a Ford engine warranty card dated 17 Feb 98 and a services invoice with C5OZ-6012-AX Fold long block on it from a Ford dealer. In September I travelled to US and caught up with Steve from Seattle whom I purchased the CS from. Great...

1968 Vin # on engine block

Hi Richard, I hope all is well with you. I looked at your photo of the engine number and my CS does not have an engine number where it should be....actually there is no flat section there to put a number. The engine was replaced with a new Ford factory engine. I can find 8C21 stamped near the...

1968 Wanted - 2 inch fan spacer and bolts

Thanks for the replies. There seems to be a catch 22 situation with having the fan 1/2 in and 1/2 out of the shroud and having the fan close to the radiator. If the fan is close to the radiator than it hits the shroud and if the fan is 1/2 in and 1/2 out of the shroud than the fan won't hit...

1968 Wanted - 2 inch fan spacer and bolts

Thanks gt/csj4. My searched on internet have lead only to 2 1/4 fan spacers that are correct reproduction but I feel going to a 2 inch fan spacer is required to stop the fan from ripping the shroud. Cheers, John

1968 Wanted - 2 inch fan spacer and bolts

I'm changing the fan spacer from 2 3/4 to 2 so that the fan blades don't rip the fan shroud to bits. Does anyone have a 68 correct 2 inch fan spacer for sale? Also chasing the bolts? Cheers, John

1968 Distance of fan from radiator with shroud?

Thanks Bob. To be more correct with my description, yes the top of the shroud was shredded. I fixed it by cutting some plastic to go over the whole and then using small bolts and nuts to keep the plastic in place. Finally, I put 100MPH tape over the plastic to stop air flow between the shroud...

1968 Distance of fan from radiator with shroud?

Nice to hear from your Richard. All way around the shroud where the shroud joins on to the radiator there is flat section about 3/4" to 1" but then on the top and bottom of the shroud it flares out to accommodate the fan. Since the depth of the fan is so deep it is has passed the flared...

1968 Distance of fan from radiator with shroud?

I'm replacing the shroud for a 20" radiator after the shroud was damaged on the top by the fan. I thought someone may have leaned on the shroud when the car was in transit to Australia but when I removed the shroud I noticed the bottom of the shroud was cut up by the fan. Looking where the...

    GT/CS Tail light repair

Thanks for the post Jayscal. My recently acquired 68 GT/CS had dim indicators and brake lights which were even dimmer when the taillights were on. With the bright days of sunny Queensland, Australia I was concerned that drivers behind me will not see the tailights working. A couple of the...
