    1968 Aftermarket door shells

Thanks Marty. Honestly the ones I have are in about the same if not better condition. With that said you're making me wonder if the two guys that have come out and quoted on my labor to do the body work knew what they were talking about. I have pin holes on the lower part of the door skin...

Thank you Steve! I'm already booking my holidays. Anyone here going by chance? Stan

    1968 Aftermarket door shells

Any pics Marty? I'm still thinking seriously about buying a new pair but as mentioned before am hesitant. And to answer the other question I haven't been able to find any doors from original Ford Tooling. Help!

    1968 Aftermarket door shells

Wow Steve, you sure do know your events! I've been to Monroe once before looking at a 69 convert with a 390. Why...oh why didn't I buy it :( Do you know the name of the swap meet? May would be a good time to go shopping with my wife in Seattle. I'll just spin it that way :) Stan

    1968 Hood pin spring

Bingo It works guys! The problem that I couldn't get my head wrapped around was why, when compressed there was still a big gap between washer and pin. Well, the problem was the spring coils weren't being compressed one inside the other (make sense?). I had to bend some of the coils ever so...

    1968 Hood pin spring

Thanks Jon, this does confirm what I wasn't hoping for...that the spring goes between the pin and washer. I still can't vision it sitting flat enough with the spring compressed. Every picture i've seen of a 68 Shelby looks as though there is no spring between the two. Oh well...perhaps it's...

    1968 Aftermarket door shells

Thanks for the tip. Ill see if the shells available to me are Dynacorn or offshore. If I do go the route of aftermarket then I'll expect there to be some tweaking that needs to be done...but hopefully not much. thanks!

    1968 Hood pin spring

Thanks Gary! Actually I'm doing a 68 shelby/green hornet clone :) I appreciate your info on the CS bracket. Didn't know that. Cheers!

    1968 Hood pin spring

Oh? Every pictured I've seen it looks like the pin and the washer are sitting flat together. When I try doing it this way the spring causes quite an unsightly space between the two. I wonder if I'm doing something wrong? Thanks so much for your time! Stan

    1968 Aftermarket door shells

This sounds familiar. A friend of mine bought a pair for his 69 Camaro and they fit fine. I was hoping to hear the same from fellow 68 Mustang owners. If only they made doors from Original Tooling :(

    1968 Hood pin spring

I'm a bit embarrassed to ask this (ok very embarrassed) but in my quest to drill a hole in my hood and test fit the hood pin assembly I could not for the life of me figure out where the spring goes. I've been frantically searching the CS and Shelby forums for pictures but cannot seem to locate...

    1968 Aftermarket door shells

Hello all. Simple question here. Has anyone had any experience with aftermarket door shells? Not just the skin but an entire replacement door. I had a body man come by my house to look at my project and he mentioned that even though the doors didn't look terribly bad, he'd still need to put...

1968 Question for you 390 owners

Power steering Hoses Thanks for all those pics Al. They are awesome! I cannot believe how tight of a squeeze this is. It almost seems impossible to re and re the spark plugs. I'm hoping one day with weather, work and time permitting I'll run into you and take you up on your offer :) I do...

    Hockey Night in Canada

Gary, as a proud Canadian I've been quite excited this past week watching such top notch hockey. I would have to put my money on the U.S. team this go around. They are big, fast and physical. One of the best teams I've seen them put together. It wouldn't be so bad if we lost would it? Stan...

1968 Question for you 390 owners

Fpa Robert and Randy, I actually received a response from Stan at FPA! Nice to know that he would take the time to respond to me on his day off. He definitely has convinced me that his headers will have NO problem fitting. He was even kind enough to send me some pictures shot at angles that...

1968 Question for you 390 owners

Reverend Al I would appreciate the pictures but please don't go out of your way as it's suppose to be raining in Victoria all weekend! What a surprise eh? I'm in Victoria several times a year. Next time you take your S code out and enter into an event let me know. I'll definitely make the...

1968 Question for you 390 owners

Rob it's funny you mention FPA. I was just on their website. I did a google search and found several of the ford forums highly suggest his product on the mustang platform. I can't seem to find any links as to where to buy his headers from. I sent him an email and hope to hear back. Thanks...

1968 Question for you 390 owners

Aftermarket headers Has anyone had any good experiences with aftermarket headers? The question of 100% original is still up in the air with me. I would hate to constrict the exhaust on this motor as I paid good dollar for the modifications. At the same time, if it's too difficult my decision...

1968 Question for you 390 owners

Thanks David. I'm actually missing 2 spark plugs but since I probably have to pull the motor out again I'm going to re install them. My engine builder misplaced them when he was running some tests. I'll let everyone know how things go once I throw in the manifolds. Stan
