You can see in the pic that the hood lock down is tipped towards the passenger side. You can work it to the driver side a bit by reforming it off the radiator support bracket and on the bench. You may need to file the holes a bit to allow the hood lock bracket to move downward on the driver side and up on the passenger side. This will move the lock quite a bit to the driver side.

The other option is to move the radiator support bracket itself to the driver side by drilling the spot weld to release it. At this point in your restoration it is not a huge deal and you will thank yourself over and over again when the car is complete. Not the time to "cheap" out so to speak.

If you get a chance to walk down a bunch of GT/CS cars you will notice these brackets it all sorts of positions. They were an add on after the car was nearly done on the assembly line. Many of the GT/CS option parts kinda fit funky as they were not true factory designed parts for the car so to speak, but added on at the end of the line.
