With the use of a radiator shroud, how much space should there be between the fan blade and the radiator? The fan blade is the fixed type.

THANKS, Dave

Rule of thumb, fan blades should be halfway into the fan shroud.

With no shroud 1 inch. Scott is right on. Half the fan blade in a half the fan blade out.

With the very shallow fan shrouds on a Mustang Neil is probably in the same spot as Scott. Just did a 1967 Firebird with a shroud. They are very deep (more than 1 foot) and I set it up as Scott said.

As stated, you want to establish a venturi effect utilizing the shroud circumference.
