MONTHLY SPECIAL September 2006
|
|
My brother Brian, my son Zach, and I started this project in Nov 2003. We did not know much about the GT/CS until we came to this site. Everyone was so helpful in guiding us with our restoration. We finished the restoration in Mar 2005 and have enjoyed driving and showing the car around the Kansas City area. We have attempted to post as many pictures as possible on the gallery and be as helpful as everyone was to us by responding on the forum. As well, we have established great new friendships with ownership of this car. Brian B. (amoung others) has always provided us with guidance and friendship!!!
The car is a great car!! My (then 10-11 year old) son Zach was very much apart of team in the restoration and takes so much pride in this car. It was great to teach him how to take a car apart and put it back together again. As well, he loves to show the car, show his classmates and teachers this website, and wear the tee shirt Tim has shared with us.
We attempted to keep our car as original as possible. However, we decided to make a few changes to make this "our" car. Those changes are: Installed a 9" 325 gears rear end (instead of 8" 279 gears), tach in place of the clock, power steering (came with manual), and 68 Shelby engine dress up kit. We worked hard to fix the negative rake as we wanted the car to be at least level, or stand taller in the rear.
We have very much enjoyed being part of this GT/CS and website family. We invite each of you to visit our gallery page and view all of our pictures from the past few years. We share the spirt of these cars with each of you.
