    68 Tilt Steering

I used to have a 1968 Mustang with a factory break-away tilt steering column. It would break toward about the 1:00 to 2:00 o'clock position with vehicle off and tilt like a regular tilt wheel too. The tilt is operated by the turn signal arm. When I first bought the car (used) I thought...

    1968 Removing Locking Lug Nuts

I've used an air chisel with a small round point jammed in the groove of the lock to work it free. It helps to tighten all of the non locking lug nuts and use something to shield the wheel from the the chisel in case you slip.

. Gas in Seattle is $1.95!

I purchase gasoline for $1.83 here in California! Have also seen it as low as $1.79. What is really amazing is that, for once, the price of gasoline in California is at the national average (rather than above) that is discussed on the news.

    2007+ New 2007 and 2008 Production Numbers

If the retro GT/CS owners, like Rick07GT/CS, want to act like a bunch of trophy childeren, oust the "new CS/GT" cars from the website. To me the GT/CS was only made is 1968!

1968 Need Help--Side Scoop Rivet Dimentions

Currently, the side scoops are off my car and the grilles are removed. The car has been repainted by the previous owner(s) and I cannot remember how the grilles were attached. In any case, I live near by (figure out the login name) and can show you the side scoops if you want to see them. I...

    1968 NOS Hood locks price?

Call these guys and check their price and availability. I purchased a set from them years ago and they had the locks with the mounting hardware in stock. As I recall they were original equipment and brand new, but I cannot remember how much I paid for them...

    1968 How do you compare?

It is hard figuring out what to buy. If you are buying a GT/CS as an investment, forget about driving it and buy something that is a numbers matching vehicle that you park in your garage. If you want to buy a driver that looks cool, buy what YOU think looks cool and drive the piss out of it!

    Color change?

Look at RVtrash's gallery for a view of red stripes.

    Color change?

Red stripes are listed on the http://www.sacramento-mustang.com website. Cannot get a view of how they look on an actual car, but I bet they would look sweet with pearl white. Just my $.02 worth.

Question on when to get alignment

If your old tires that were on the car when the alignment was done were worn very unevenly, I would consider getting an alignment with the new tires on the vehicle. What you describe as the car bouncing off straight with the old tires on the freeway could be the characteristics of bias ply...

    Color change?

If you want a white GT/CS with a black interior, then just do it! But please do consider making it pearl white... ... I would kinda like seeing GT/CS in pearl white with a black interior. Maybe red stripes too! Do what you want and if it looks cool, it will be cool!

    1968 What motivated you to buy a 1968 GT/CS?

First started driving in the mid-seventies and saw a couple of GT/CS's in the town where I live, but did not have the money to buy one. Now that I have one and the money to fix it up the way I want, I don't have the time to do so.
