    1968 Power Steering Hose Routing

Hi dalorzo_f: It does look like yours might be incorrect. I did find a post at http://californiaspecial.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8402 that appears to be original. Our high pressure hose must have been replaced with an incorrect 70-71 hose. When that was done the support bracket was...

    1968 Power Steering Hose Routing

Yes, I have that bracket. There is a rubber insert (http://www.cjponyparts.com/power-steering-hose-insulator-1967-1970/p/HW1153/) that the two hoses pass through. My question is which hole should the high-pressure hose go through? When looking forward, does it go through the left hole or the...

    1968 Power Steering Hose Routing

My high-pressure hose runs through the rubber insulator block on the side of the block next to the exhaust. Some pictures I have seen show the hose running through the hole next to the fender, which makes more sense to me. Which is correct? Thanks, Pat

1968 Fuel Gauge Sending Unit Lock Ring

Hi Neil: Yes, the "O" ring is in place. I used a little grease to hold it in place (per supplier recs). I first set the lock ring by hand, then removed the sending unit. the "O" ring stayed in place, then proceeded to re-install and lock it down. Pat

1968 Fuel Gauge Sending Unit Lock Ring

I am replacing the fuel gauge sending unit on our GT/CS and have a question on tightening the lock ring. I first hand tightened the lock ring in place. I then used a large screwdriver and hammer to further tighten (some pretty powerful blows). The “ears” on the gas tank are only about ½ way...

Good to know. I have lots of aluminum pop rivets......probably not the correct size.... ;) Pat

    1968 Side Scoop Screen Rivets

That is what worries me. Pop rivets are designed to stress and "pop" with a washer on the back. I thought it was interesting that the NOS Ford parts did not show a washer. Does someone have a Ford parts book that shows whether or not there were washers used originally? If necessary, I can...

    1968 Side Scoop Screen Rivets

Hi All: The scoop screen kits from major suppliers all appear to include washers with the rivets. Normally washers are used with pop rivets as back side support. However, to use the washers you would have to remove the scoop to install the screens. The post at...

1968 Fuel Gauge Always Reads Full

Neil: I just pulled the sending unit. It was very corroded, so I have just ordered a Scott Drake replacement. We have a busy day tomorrow and the car is up on a lift. Will do the check when I can. I am afraid the wire is shorting out and I dread replacing it (or chasing the short). Pat

1968 Fuel Gauge Always Reads Full

Hi: Our gas gauge reads full all the time when the ignition switch is on or accessory position. I pulled the sending unit wire and got a reading of 8.6 ohms between the sending unit stud and ground. I also checked the continuity between the sending unit wire and ground with a buzzer. There...

    1968 Power Steering Hose Routing

Hi Craig: Looks like you have the same hose I do which is for the 70/71 Mustang. I do know that Scott Drake makes the correct hose. I feel your pain! Pat p.s. We have a local Mustang supplier who can get me the hose from Scott Drake.

BTW, anyone know a source for the alignment/indexing bracket? Thanks, Pat OOPS! Never mind, found a couple of sources online for used parts. Pat
