    old member introduction

Hi all, it has been a while but I am back. I could never get messages from the site through the spam filters on my office computer so I re-registered. My old username was coniferhi. Some may remember I am in Colorado and have a 1968 HCS. Anyway it is good to be back. Mark

    Sept 2006 Hemmings Muscle Machines

I don't know if this has been mentioned here prior, but the September issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines has the Green Hornet on the cover and a very nice article with plenty of history on the car and the subsequent GT/CS. Mark.

    Automobile Magazine

Anyone see this months Automobile Magazine? Towards the rear of the mag there are auction results with a GT/CS featured. It sold for $19,000 and change. They describe what condition it is in and a little about the GT/CS. Not great, but remember there is no such thing as bad publicity. Mark

    black stripe kit

I am thinking of changing my stripes from white to black this summer and also adding the flat black hood areas. Does anyone have a source for high quality stripe kits? How hard are they to install? I am going to use a hair drier to remove the existing stripes, sound OK? I think the black...

    aftermarket rear suspension

Hi all, any recommendations on rear leaf springs? I looked at Tony Branda and found 3 that would work. I want a little stiffer ride over stock and also was thinking of installing gas charged shocks front and rear. What about rear stabilizer bars? I want the HCS to have a little more aggressive...

    diff seal

I have what appears to be a small seal leak on my diff. If I drop the driveshaft and remove the series of bolts around the rear end what am I in for? Is the gasket fairly easy to replace at this point? Should I use silicone or Permatex in place of the gasket or in addition to the gasket? Thanks...

    New Motor Trend

Anyone see this months Motor Trend? A comparison article between the 05 GT and the 06 Dodge Charger staged in San Fran. The Mustang wins! They also reference 1968 cars used in the movie. The 68 Charger was pretty fast for a heavy car but the 390 Mustang was slower than I would have thought...

    needed: side marker

This past Monday I was driving through a BP gas station and an Electric company truck backed into my right rear quarter panel. I took it in right away and got an estimate. Not really all that bad. The Electric company will pay for the repair. No damage to any fiberglass, tail lights or...

    "lol" help

OK I should probably know this but I don't, so please don't laugh too hard. What does "lol" at the end of some posts mean? Is it a code, are there others I should know about? This has been driving me nuts for months and I figured I had better ask while I am still a newbie and at least have...

    hood hinge replacement

Hi All, since my HCS is snowed in for the season I am planning on doing some minor work that I have been putting off since I got it. My question involves the hood hinges. The hood does not sit tight at the rear along the cowl. Will new hinges solve this? Are there any "tricks of the trade"...
