    Removing Decklid Hinge ?

Regarding the procedure to instal and adjust torsion bars on trunklid hinges. The Ford people use a simple tool. A picture is in your shop manual. Section 17 page 91. Use the torsion bar as a guide to drill the hole and cut the slot. I made mine out of a piece of 3/16 flat bar. Joe

    Power Steering Problem

Just my 2 cents but did you put power steering fluid in the reservoir. The Ford pumps call for ATF (auto trans fluid). I found this out many years ago. The relief valve in the pump tends to stick with the PS fluid. It will work if you rev up the engine. Joe

    ### 2005 Calendars are now for sale! ###

Don That April car would be mine. Unfortunately not a 390 big block just a 302 4V. But with the stock 3:25 gears I can make it move quite well. Quite a few GTCS cars up here in the frozen north (Southern Alberta). Joe

ADMIN - 2005 Calendar of our cars?

Jon I am planning on taking pictures as soon as we get some decent weather. Hopefully Monday or Tuesday. A friend has a very nice GTCS clone. Can't tell it from a real one. Everthing correct including 8R01. Would you you consider his car for the calander? Joe

    Decal script placement

The only Mustang script on the Cal Special is on the trunk. It is on the right hand side. I can give you approximate dinensions if your trunk lid isn't drilled.

    Fog light pedistals

The pedestals are quite easy to make. Instructions and dimensions are in 1988 Recognition guide book.

    GT LITES

Can anyone out there tell me why my taillites don't go on when the fog lites are turned on. Any other 68 Mustangs I've had with the GT equipment group the fog lites worked this way. Anyone who has a CS with the GT equipment group please let me know how your fogs work. I may have screwed up when...

    Color of power steering pump

I believe it depends on when your car was built. Mine was built May 15/68 and came with a blue pump. I was told Ford bought P/S pumps in bunches from a supplier and sometimes they were blue and other times black. Joe

    GT/CS Carb

    tail lite bezels

I purchased a set of reproduction tail lite bezels and I'm a little confused as to the correct way they should be. Should the black paint on the outer part be removed or left on? My original ones had the paint removed but I have seen many GTCS cars in the Gallery with the paint left on.

    GTCS Recognition Guide

I have recently purchased a GTCS that is not in the registry and I would like to see the registry updated. This is my 6th GTCS and only one of these cars is in the latest book. Fortunately I have both of Paul's books but making the pages available on this site is a good idea.

deestix Thanks for the info. Seems just when we think we have gospel info on Mustangs documentation proves us wrong. 66joej

    Naming convention confusion (Newbie Question)

Actually the 390 2V engine would not qualify a car to be a GT in 1968. The car had to have a 4V engine as indicated in the Mustang Recognition Guide. The best way to detemine if a GTCS car is a true GT is with a Ford 999 History sheet or a Kevin Marti report.

New Guy Looking at GT/CS on Ebay

I emailed the seller about the two items mentioned (hood locks and incorrect lenses on the lites) the day the car was put on eBay and no response as of today. I would definetly get a Marti report before bidding.
