    1968 Few Pictures

Thanks Dan! I always have a special memory of your dad. I bought the light pedestals from him a while back and there was a mixup with the address. USPS sent the package back as undeliverable. Your dad re-shipped it again and he wouldn't take the extra postage from me even though it was my...

    1968 Few Pictures

Thanks. I don't know much about the Borgensen steering system. One of the videos I watched a while back included cutting the steering column and I just didn't want to cut the somewhat rare tilt column. Good suggestion.

Thanks Rob. Unfortunately redhead steering site doesn't list Mustang steering box. Maybe because cores are hard to find. If I could figure out a way to get it removed without removing the headers etc I would love to get it get it rebuilt. I guess I may have no choice but to remove the...

    1968 Few Pictures

Thanks! The tires are 225/60R15 Cooper and Legendary Wheel Magnum 500 Alloy Wheel 15"x7". With this setup we did have to upgrade to adjustable strut rod from Open Tracker, eliminating the very slight tire rubbing issue because the rubber bushings on the regular strut rods were flexing.

Thanks all for the compliments. Appreciate it. Good question about the headrest and so glad Marty chimed in. I was going to take it out and try it the other way. Glad I didn't have to since some of the hardware can be hard to find if I end up breaking it. By the way, any suggestions on...

    1968 Few Pictures

Hello, Just wanted to share a few pictures from the recently completed restoration. Still needs a few more things to tweak, including engine bay wiring looms, fixing the sloppy power steering, A/C recharge, and finally get the tilt mechanism to work properly. First picture is how I...

    1968 Speedometer gear teeth

Thanks Rob. Appreciate the lead. I called and unfortunately they specialize on manual transmissions so they couldn't help me. Anyways, I am hoping to remove the old speedo gear this weekend and look into it.

    1968 Speedometer gear teeth

Hello, I have a 3.40 gear ratio posi-trac rear end with C4 auto transmission. The speedometer MPH hour is way off when driving. For example, the gauge reads about 42 MPH when going at 35 MPH (measured via GPS). I have the standard C4 transmission speedometer gear in there. I was...

    1968 Wiring dilemma

Neil, not sure if your issue is related to this post, but my car's wiring in the new harness was also reversed as Cesar described in #16 in the attached thread. Sorry if I misunderstood your issue and sending you on a goose chase. We didn't find out about the issue until everything was hooked...

    . Bob Teets

Dan, Our thoughts and prayers are with you and family. I remember talking to Bob to order my fog light pedestals and I accidentally gave my old zip code so the post office returned them. Bob was so kind enough to mail it to me again and did not charge me for shipping the 2nd time, despite my...

Thanks Neil. Appreciate the reply. Centering it makes sense.

1968 GT/CS Stripes - Centered across the scoop?

I just thought I would add couple of pictures so that it is a bit more clearer as to what I am talking about. The red picture is from the book where you can see the logo is not centered. Logo is closer to the door. The blue picture from this site from the how to identify section. You can see...

    1968 Jack with 14" tires

Tried to see if the jack would fit inside the 14" rims today and as you can see from the picture the jack screw extends beyond the edge of the rims. It appears to be the period correct jack. I searched for any videos of how the jack and spare tire are properly stored in the trunk and no...

1968 GT/CS Stripes - Centered across the scoop?

We followed Paul's book as well the following link to line up the stripes. We would like to confirm if the GT/CS logo should be centered across the side scoop or the GT/CS logo should be closer to edge (by the door)? The picture in the book shows the logo being closer to the edge of the door...
