The 25 Greatest Mustangs, per Hagerty

I just received an email from Hagerty with a link to The 25 Greatest Mustangs.

I am not going to add the link here but the following are their top 25 rankings. Shocked that our cars are not listed on the list. Nothing against Hagerty and I love them for my insurance needs but I was hoping California Special / HCS made the top 25 list.

I read the whole story and I too was disappointed that "we" were not included. Also, my all-time favorite muscle car the '68 GT500 KR was not listed.

These lists are always very subjective. Pay them no mind.

The article created a discussion, just like it was supposed to.

We should be satisfied that the 1967 Eleanor car and Charlies Angels Mustang was not included.

I have to jump in with some trivia. I saw the original Gone in 60 Seconds at a drive in while sitting in an R code '72 Mach 1. I went through a set of tires that night after the movie. For years I thought Eleanor was a '73 because of the grill. Several years ago, #1 son bought me a DVD of the original movie. While watching I noticed "Eleanor" didn't have bumper fillers in the quarter panels and had a '71/'72 style front valance. Low and behold, the car was actually a '71 with a '73 grill installed. Younger me was either too dumb or too enthralled with the action sequences to notice and older me is easily distracted by bloopers.
