I took a ride in a new Shelby GT500

A few days ago I got to ride in a friends brand new (300 miles) Shelby. He has been waiting for it for several months and was like kid on Christmas morning when he got back here with it. I was impressed by the power, he was driving it like he stole it. It was nice to see a car like that being driven and not just sitting. The car was a hand full with the traction control engaged and spent most of it's time sideways with the TC off. When I asked him for a ride he said we should go in the daylight, I replied I just wanted a ride......not that I have a death wish. Too bad we can't all have one.

Thats awesome Skychief, I wish I had the opportunity to ride in one or better yet, drive one! I am sooo jealous!

There's a guy in our Mustang club who had bought one two hours before the clubb meeting that evening. It was so new you could smell the exhaust burning off. He gave rides after the meeting to a few people. I had to leave so I didn't get one. But, this same guy also has a Ford GT that he bought last year. And I was the first to get a ride in the Ford GT after the meeting that he first brought it to.
