I don't want to pick the man's car apart in a public forum. It looks like a really nice car. I'll PM you with what all I see wrong from the photos. Stated again, have it looked at by someone knowledgeable of '68 Mustangs. (All the specific C/S items look correct to me.)

All of his auctions are No Reserve. He buys cars that he can get cheap, usually a distressed seller needing the cash, cleans them up a bot, fixes some little things, then lists on Ebay.

I remember 2 cars he bought off ebay, couple weeks later, listed them. Each case made a couple of $K.

Whoa!! That could throw up a big red flag for potential buyers. I would only hope that he wouldn't sluff off something big, bad, and ugly on the car's integrity. What's that old cliche' : "Buyer Beware"?
I hate being the eternal skeptic, but I've seen (and heard of) too many automotive atrocities commited, covered up, and denied. Johhny B. , are you listening?

License plates are definitely incorrect for a 1968 California anything.

Supposedly starting in 2009, the state of California will allow these license plates to be installed on cars 1963-1969. The proposed rule being that the plates have to fit in the year of issue range. A guesstimate for 1968 would be VAA001 to XZZ999.

The air cleaner on this car is incorrect for a 1968. AFAIK.
The one installed on the car looks like a 1966 California or 1967 air cleaner.
