I am confused by the question/answers here. My wiper switch is in the dash, but the "Washer switch" is a foot activated lever near the high/low beam headlight switch on the floor.

As the issue was the "switch" I assume an active "on-off" operation was the question.

As noted the foot operates the pump, and activates the wipers for a few swipes. But to turn the on in the rain, the dash switch is used...

It's also a great way to freak out your passengers!

My buddy used to tell his passengers that he had a voice control intermittent wiper on his car.
He said that his friends and kids fell for it for a very long time. Anyone in the car could activate the wipers in his car, .......... as long as he was driving and ready with his left foot.
