COMMENTS: VIN 8R01J158071. I have recently been given this car by my dad. It still resides at his house, but will be moving to mine (in Alaska) this summer. This car was purchased by my father about 15 years ago from a young guy in a SE Arizona mining town. The vehicle has never been out of SE Arizona in the past 38+ years. It has no rust or corrosion problems at all! It was originally Candy Apple red, but was repainted yellow at some point, then repainted red just before my father bought it. The previous owner messed up the interior by switching it to Black from the original Parchment. He spray painted a bunch of the interior, so I will just end up gutting it and replacing everything to restore it to original configuration. The original 302 4V has been replaced with a 351W 2V, but I have a brand new 347 Stroker 330 HP to drop in it. My Dad and I, along with my son will be stripping it in February and sending it a pro for body work and repainting. Yes, we will be removing the '69 Mach I hood scoop! My intention is to use it as an occasional driver and not as a show car. I'll just drive it to work and such on nice days and of course in the local parades! And just so you don't feel sorry for my Dad - he has just completed a frame up resto on his '65 Mustang Convertible!
Congratulations on your Inheritance. A very nice looking car. Good luck with your resto on it.
