[B][COLOR=#008080]COMMENTS:[/COLOR][/B]I wanted a new Mustang when the 05 style body came out, I rented 50 or 60 Mustangs during 07, 08 and 09 for business travel. However, changes at work in 06 and 07 and then the recession hit in 08 and I had to put off buying my new Mustang until Nov of 2011. That gave me a long time to check the used car adds decide on what I really wanted since the one I wanted is now a "used car" and then find the right one. I bought this 08 California special on 11/5/11, for myself as a birthday present, it had 24K miles and came from Lansdale Pennsylvania and belonged to someone in the military named Russ, I found a picture taken in front of the Mustang Grill in 2008 in Northport Washington that was posted by the previous Owner and the previous owners name on the GT/CS Registry using the Vin #. I was happy to save it from the salt and rust up north. I love this 08 California Special and get complements almost everytime I drive it, I use it as my daily driver and Heart stimulator. I have a great drive to and from the office, many curves and hills through beautiful scenery. This car reminds me of my first car, which I still own, a 1966 Coupe, bought on 12/11/1967 with 18K miles when I was a Junior in High School for $2250. It now has 363,000 miles with many at Full throttle and it has survived High School, College, several girl friends, three wives, hail storms, floods and four years in the DC-Maryland area from 1986 to 1990. It is still original with one engine rebuild at 157,000 miles in 1975, all still matching numbers, original Springtime yellow exterior paint, black standard interior, 2V - 289, 4 speed, AC, wood grain steering wheel, console, day/nite mirror, remote rear view mirror, manual steering and manual brakes (except for these modifications, headers, dual exhaust, spring shocks on the rear, spring spacers at the front, Cragar Mags and some rolling of the rear fender inside edges up flush like the newer ones have done to fit bigger tires 245/60 14's on the rear) it was built 9/14/1965 in San Jose Ca.. The 08 CS is just newer and more comfortable but it has the same essence as the 66 Stang plus the 08 is faster than most stock GT's just like my 66 was always faster than other stock Mustangs. I have always been a street racer starting with a go cart. That's why I love Mustangs!! They always put a smile on my face and a thrill to my heart every time I drive one.
