For Sale Acapulco GT/CS Project in Indiana

Pretty rare car being a GT 4 speed. If your wallet is project size this is a great finishing point compared to almost any GT/CS entry level project.

    1968 Help decoding 302

The C8AM was the first and lesser known Mexican "hipo" before the more common D1ZM. They were installed in some trucks built for US production and have the similar heavy main caps to the C5OE hipo 289

    1968 GT/CS Square 8 or Marchal?

Feb 15 would be more accurate. There is a change published date think it is Feb 22 I have seen several Feb cars with the later reflectors. Never seen a Jan build with late quarters. Like you say with overlap based on cars bucked already and inventory levels of early panel at the 3 plants.

    1968 Green Hornet

    1968 Green Hornet

Ford built the car with AC. Too bad the correct original history has been altered. Notice the original early quarter reflectors as a Aug 67 build would have. The car was already privately owned at the time of this photo.

    1968 Green Hornet

Here is the build sheet and an original photo of the car before all the "newer" history, color changes etc was created. Dearborn car never assigned a Shelby vin unlike Lil Red

    1968 Inner Fender VIN

Just for interest sake quite often the 68 Metuchen cars have exposed vin I have had a few Dearborn with partial expose but never a San Jose. The vin is suspect

For Sale C-code Highland Green 4-speed Project

The passenger side front inner apron was crinkled. I passed at 9500 the first time it was for sale because of the past collision evidence. The car is easily worth that though just not to me being a relatively plain non GT

1968 Power Brake Booster Rebuild Recommendations

The Midland with clamp and spacer was used until early 69. The entire assembly was painted as one unit Booster/Spacer/Master in Semi Gloss Black and the decal on top of the master lid. The Black valve is the correct one and the White are later replacement.

    1968 Door data plate

I respectfully disagree on a restored car. The only time a tag should look almost new is on a high quality original survivor. Most of the Gold concours cars retain their original tags regardless of condition. There are no point deductions for original tags regardless of condition. That all being...

1968 Who seels the best rear leaf springs?

The eaton that sells the springs today is a different company than the one from the 60-70's. Just a coincidence on the name. They did acquire the factory drawings and do provide the better quality than the other company in the muscle game. NPD gets a huge break on them and passes it on. I have...
