1968 Fab Fords Forever April 16, 2023 attendance?

Hey all, I will be in the LA area the weekend of 4/15-4/16 and am planning to make it out to the FFF show on Sunday 4/16 at Irwindale. Not bringing the car unfortunately. But I will be a spectator. Anyone else going? Would be nice to see some of you all again. -Jeff

1968 Front suspension rebuild - current wisdom?

Hey Jon, I‘ve had good luck with the Grab-A Trak suspension from Mustangs Plus. Looks like they are now owned by Top Flight Automotive. As with most aftermarket stuff now, it’s hit and miss. Put all that on back in 2005 or so. Here’s a link-...

    1968 Red R-Code??

Found this article about John McGilvary's original CJ (Now John Johnson's). It talks about a red GT/CS R code from Seattle. So, maybe? https://www.motortrend.com/features/mump-1108-1968-cj-california-special-mustang-coupe-rare-finds/

    1968 Red R-Code??

Arlie, How many of the 3 R code GT/CSs (+9 HCSs) 428CJs are accounted for in the registries? It would be quite a find if the red one shown is a true R code. -Jeff

    1968 Actually Produced on...

All, My curiosity on the idea I heard years ago about "GT/CS Build Days" at the San Jose plant (edit: I see wording in Paul's book pg 82 that mentions "...build days..."). Looking at the sampling of Marti reports and "...actually produced on..." from Arlie and others, there definitely were...

1968 Deluxe Interior "short" window cranks?

All, I'm looking for the correct short window cranks for my car with deluxe interior (doors have a lower grille that the longer cranks tend to scrape knuckles on. I took the short cranks off the rear quarter windows and am using them up front, however they use the set screw type fastening on...

    1968 Headliner wrinkle struggles

Jon, If I recall (it's been a long time ago) I started at back and worked toward the front. I used a large number of the bigger binder clips along the door tops and top of the front window. The only area that I really wrestled with was the rear pillar getting the material fastened to the metal...

    2007+ New GT/CS Classics

I have an '07 GTCS purchased in 2008 (120K miles on it now). The 4.6L 3V has been very reliable for me in stock form. The only challenge has been changing the spark plugs. The 3V heads have a unique plug design that can become a nightmare of you can't get the broken ones out with the extraction...

    1968 Current Valuation for Insurance

All, I know this is a very subjective issue. Looking at what some of the '68 GT/CS cars have sold for recently has me thinking about changing the value with my insurance carrier. I haven't seen a list of categories here. But thinking the range would be from Extreme Project to Concourse...

    50th Anniversary Party

Hi all, I haven't chimed in here in quite awhile. Yes, I still have and occasionally drive the '68 CS!! I'm up for a west coast get together. Knott's had a great turnout for the 40th in 2008. Thinking that would be a good place to gather for the 50th. I would consider a Colorado trip as well...
