    . !969 California Special??

I am really trying to let this post die off, but this was too big of a response to the car from some big names in Ford Performance Mustangs. Again I think it looks just slightly like a 1968 GT/CS but mostly in spirit and if you squint you might make a mistake about it. But with open eyes I...

    1968 Just some old photos

We were headed to Lincoln Nebraska on I80 and think this was in Cheyanne Wyoming. We were not intending to go to a show just happened to be there when it happened. I have been going to shows since the early 1980's, so have many albums and photos, mostly of just odd things we saw. Like the GT on...

    1968 Just some old photos

That would be about right as for timing. I have been playing with these things for a long time. I noticed a graduation tassel in the white one as well. and a 5 pony personalized plate on the white one.

    . !969 California Special??

Actually Shelby did build a coupe in 1969 in Mexico, I have seen one in person. Here are a few of the photos I took at the time. It was at a Shelby reunion show at Galpin Ford. most but not all of the decals under the hood were in Spanish. The Cobra Is the First one he ever made, just tossed it...

    . !969 California Special??

I must say I stand corrected on this, I took it to it's first show this weekend. Just a general show about 1700 cars pre 1980's. As I drove by or sat where I could hear people talk there were a ton of people who thought it was a California Special. I gave them too much credit, I thought people...

1968 What should I save from junk GT/CS

Actually Lucas changed from BS (British Standard) nuts and bolts, to Metric around that time. I don't know specifics on the fog lights for 68' fords but I have worked on other British cars (Jag and MG) and know these bolts and nuts don't match anything available. So broken lights may have value...

1968 What should I save from junk GT/CS

Steering wheel, if it is a tilt away column every part of that is valuable. interior consul dash if it has a tach or clock.

    . !969 California Special??

I'll consider that a complement as I don't really think it is even close, especially being a convertible and a 1969. I would hope buyer would be much more informed than to even think it was a GT. I am going for the style more than authenticity and I am here in California, that's why I put the...

    . !969 California Special??

I am thinking of adding a rear stripe to the back like the 68 GT/CS, I just have not made up my mind. I went with the Shelby Argent (silver) tail light panel so I don't know if it will work or not. Also did the spoiler as it was cheaper for me to go that way. If I did it at least it would...

    . !969 California Special??

Thanks, and good call on the white walls, Ill spin those suckers around for now. It was just at the alignment shop yesterday and could have had it done then, now for a trip back. I'm early 50's, It had three different brands of mags on it when I got it and tires were bad, so I needed something...

    . !969 California Special??

Not that I am looking for trouble, I just expected a bit more controversy over this Frankin-Car. One suggestion of where I went wrong with the emblems is all? ( I agree but went with my wife out to the car and with her advice they were placed. ) I'm still undecided on fender moldings, black...
