1968 carpet dye

Has anybody ever used carpet dye? Or just buy new carpet? I could get some dye alot cheaper than new carpet.

I think you'll find that the dye (sprayed on) will make the carpet fiber hard & stiff. I'd bite the bullet and get new carpet.

I tried the spray once long, long ago. Within 6 months to a year, the spray had faded out and the carpet looked worse than before.
