. Cleaning Plastic Parts

Had heard of using caustic soda (lye) solutions to strip anodized surfaces and paint from plastic (instrument bezels, etc). Worked well.

Decided to give it a try on some other parts. I found a nice strong solution cleans up the lamp covers really well. Old, typically white-ish, parking light, backup light and side marker covers come out immaculate. Have also use it on many wiring clips, removes old overspray and grime really well.

Have not tried on any metal parts, but would expect it would work, but may react with some finishes.
