I thought you all would like to see this:
Go out and get this magazine-- "Collector Car Market Review" for August, 2005. There is a ("gasp") Orange and white Camaro Pace Car on this cover. It is a bi-monthly publication.
They list hundreds of collector cars' values, and the GT/CS and HCS are included on page 44. From "just OK" condition to Concours, which is as follows (in U.S. Dollars):
GT/CS -- 4175, 7525, 11300, 15050
HCS -- 4200, 7725, 11750, 15900
(notice the HCS cars with a slightly higher value?)
They list accessories that add more value, like +35% for a 390, wheels, console, etc.
You also have to be sharp, because a "regular" Mustang as a GT actually has more value as a CS, so a GT/CS (HCS) that is ALSO a GT should command even MORE value.
Then on page 92, they have an Auction Report, where a Gold GT/CS (no. 8R01C147818) sold at $14,900 (condition 3). The caption also mentions that the car came with "an older copy of the GT/CS Registry showing this car". They also commented: "still a good looking car with heritage".
So...GO get a copy...I got mine at a local Barnes and Noble book store. Or you can try via phone at 508-839-6707,
(fax 508-839-6266) in North Grafton, MA
