OK, this is weird. My J code was built on May 15th also but my VIN is 2000 units higher than Scott's, 162112. How many cars a day could San Jose put out? My scheduled build day is the 14th instead of the 13th, but still that's a big jump. This also lends credence to an earlier thread that CS's were done in batches I guess.
Steve

PS-Nice car Scott. Glad you joined our group.

My T code is number 162217. It was bucked May 13th, scheduled for build May 28th and actually built May 15th, 13 days ahead of schedule.

Really Nice Scott! Looks great!!

I asked the same question on VINs awhile back. Someone had said (maybe Jason) that the VIN is assigned to the car before it is built. They were not neccesarily built in VIN sequence on the line.

Mine was bucked on 4/29, scheduled for 5/13, and built on 4/30.
My VIN is 160200.

here is a prime example of a car I owned:

vin is 8r01s103383

This car was SCHEDULED to be built on 9-9-67 which is very early in the build year as they start in August. The VIN is only the 3383th from the first one of the year at the San Jose plant. This car was actually built 11-28-67, 80 days behind schedule. The VIN numbers of freshly built cars at 11-28-67 were around 8r01x120xxx give or take.

Scott;
That will just about be the same set-up I'll be running once my 428 CJ is done. .030 over std., iron 428 CJ heads, ported and polished, solid lifter cam, roller rockers (crane gold), 900 cfm Street Demon carb, MSD 6AL electronic ignition w/blaster coil. Can't wait to get this whole package wrapped up and in the car.

Don :grin:

O Hell Ya! That is what i wanted to hear...that pony you have is SMOKIN HOT haha. So i think that you are the second fastest GTCS i have met on this site. I am probably in the top 5. The fastest one was in the 9's but with NOS, it was 383 stroker. He sent me a video of him dragging it, which i could sent to you if you wanted.

I believe you are pretty new to the site and i think this is the first time i have talked to you...i race my GTCS too. Look for a post really soon with some dyno numbers and timeslip numbers, im dynoing it and racing it this weekend at LACR.
