...with Renee's Stevenson Special, sister Sharon's '66 coupe, my white J-code and '70 Mach I . After spending a delightful day at the Roamin' Angels car show in Grass Valley, we proceeded to Loomis for another show where Renee and I both won awards :)

My son, TJ drove the Mach solo to Grass Valley and we were also joined by Ron Moore of R&R Classics who brought us fresh Mustang parts catalogs.

Had a very nice time at both events and our new "California Special way of Life" book by Cory was marveled by everyone who stopped by!

...The winning Mustang at Roamin" Angels was an immaculate S-code fastback with a "trunk option" Tri-power intake and carbs. Of interest also was a '67 T-code fastback.
There were many gorgeous Mustangs there with around 800 cars total :)

Many interested people stopped by with stories ranging from a GT/CS recently given to a couple in Yuba City they wish to restore (gave 'em Ron's business card) to a seemingly knowledgeable guy who inspected a neglected R-code GT/CS owned by an old couple in the Bay Area who is a neighbor of his mother's. There is a lot more to that story, but the owner has refused all offers and is leaving the car to his kids...

Renee did a class job showing her car as always complete with flowers, diecast model, Cory's book and tons of magnetic enthusiasm! TJ did a wonderful job commanding the '70 Mach having had his license for only two weeks :)

The Loomis show which featured about 150 cars also had a live band and BBQ. A truly great time!

Rob

You're right Rob. It is amazing to watch him drive and take pictures at the same time!! I have seen him do this over the years, and I am amazed at how well his pictures come out!! I have tried it, but I never get near the quality of Tim's pictures!!

Tim,

What can I say? Two car shows in one day!!! It was so much fun!!!

Had a great time with you, TJ, Sharon and Tommy, and got A LOT of nice comments on all of the cars. So many beautiful cars up there in Grass Valley!!!! Then to shoot back up to your place before heading down to Loomis to wash the cars off (it rained in Grass Valley during the show), was quite interesting. Two washes within 24 hours

The Loomis show is really a nice show for being in such a small town! The local owner of the Jimboy's Tacos, Don Trammel, very enthusiastically puts on this show, and there are always so many nice cars in attendance.

I am very proud of the fact that we both won an award with our beautiful Cal Specials, and indeed, Cory's books where a hit at both shows!!!

Ron (Clubpro), thank you for coming to both shows. It was so good to see you again!! I put a few of your business cars on my windshied in Loomis, and all but one were gone by the end of the show! I fell asleep last night looking at one of the catalogs that you gave me for R&R Classics, and I actually dreamt about car parts last night :-/ (I will contact you on that windshield later this week)

Wow guys nice pictures, made me smile just looking at them. I never saw that many trees at a car show. Can you tell I am from Nebraska. Marty

Congratulations, Tim and Renee!

... fun to learn of your awards down in Loomis.

Your already-posted pictures say it all... nonetheless, here's just a few more...

Renee and Tim:

I mostly got video of TJ so don't have a good pic of him to post, but I was sure happy to witness him on his first solo drive to a show. I'm sure they'll be many more.

Today was Constitution Day :flag:, and Nevada City had a huge fun parade. If Renee and Tim hadn't already had such a full weekend, I would have twisted their arms to put some cars in the parade as it was the best parade I've ever been to, but it didn't have any "ponies" in it.

Thanks for the fresh tomatoes, Renee... I did remember to get them!

Marty, the only drawback is that you don't dare run your dust mop across the car after sitting for an hour or two like at most shows. The micro-droplets of pine sap from those trees tend to smear while contaminating your mop.

A role of clean towels, detailing and window sprays and about 3-times the maintenance of open air shows are required to keep things spotless.

Thanks, Timmy. You and Teej did a beautiful job detailing the coupe... and with a little luck it won't be mine much longer. Tommy's hooking up the AC and we're off to Craigslist.

Oops, Renee, sorry to have photographed your car roof after it had rained. You had things so beautifully polished before the clouds opened up.

Sharon, That's okay, my car won't melt. Besides, the rain was a welcome site after the heat of Friday...

...And what a nice '66 it is; 289 4v and solid as a rock! I really hate to see it go!

In addition, here's a few more photos of TJ. This was the first car show where he got to drive alone and the '70 Mach was significant because he learned of it being for sale at this same show three years ago from a lady (Kelly) who worked as a vendor. He bugged me and BUGGED me until I agreed to go and have a look at it. Well, lo & behold, we bought it and loved it. Here we are today and Kelly is still working car shows. TJ went and found her for some appreciative photos :) After the RA show, he drove the '70 home, then rode to Loomis with Renee.

Beautiful cars everybody! That Cyclone looks just like one I used see on an abandoned farm. It was a 1970 with a 390 though, I think.
