1968 replacement grill Cali Special

I need to replace my grill in my 68 Gt/Cs original owner installed a new 68 grill in 72
after a fender bender. I think it should have a 67 grill is this correct. And do I have to modify it

appreciate any input

Yes, a '67 with the bars removed. You need to cut openigs for and rivet the Marchal brackets (assuming you have them). There are a number of posts on this, but not one comprehensive "how to" (at least that I have found).

One key piece missing is the pattern to cutout the openings for the Marchal brackets...
