  • Not had the lockout go but i have found the four speeds linkage will tend to bind up and will leave you locked into the gear, the remedy; jack the back end up and go under the car and manually move the linkage around, pull apart the arms and give a liberal amount of high temp grease on the "tracks" and it will cure the problem... Maybe a remedy for the reverse lockout issue too?
    4 speed shifter
Has anyone ever had their reverse lockout go bad? my 4 speed shifter with pull up lockout lever has broken inside. I have not pulled it apart yet but I think there is a cable with a pawl at the end. I dont think they make a replacemant part for this, I was going to take the shifter apart and see whats wrong and create a fix for it? any ideas?
